Lifting Frames
Heading divider
Semi-automatic and Manual Lifting Frames are used on Gearbulk vessels.

Semi-automatic lifting frames carry an air pressure system, operating on pneumatic release hooks. This means that once the lifting frames are hooked up to the load, no further intervention is required to release the hooks as the crane driver has a control system in the crane cab. This drastically reduces the number of stevedores required per gang, thus both increasing productivity and reducing costs.

Semi-automatic frames have safe working loads from 32 to 65 mt, and are used to lift a wide range of commodities including unitised pulp, timber, plywood, aluminium, copper and lead, as well as non-unitised commodities such a slung timber, tissue reels and bigbags of bulk commodities.

Manual lifting frames are used principally with core probes and headclamps, but can also be used for breakbulk type cargoes. They range from 20 to 36 mt safe working load.
