Unitising
Heading divider
Maximum use is made of unitising in order to promote efficient production and minimise broken stow and damage.

Unitised commodities include paper, pulp, plywood, hardboard, lumber, aluminium, lead, steel pipes and many more.

The process of unitising consists of strapping together individual bales or bundles into a unit, utilising USLM steelstrap. This combines the strapping function to keep the bundles or bales together with the lifting function normally provided by steel wire or man-made fibre slings, and greatly improves production and cargo care. Unit weights range from 1 mt for pulp up to 28 mt for aluminium superpacks.
