This was developed for use with cargoes which are traded using an agreed weight measurement which differs from actual weight of the cargo. It is therefore necessary, for vessel stowage and stability purposes, to have an accurate weight of the cargo loaded.

Granite is one such commodity and the system illustrates weighing of the cargo during loading without disruption or slowing the operation. The data is transmitted from the load cells to a receiver on the quayside where it is recorded and compared with cargo manifests. The data can also be transmitted to an automatic data logger in a remote location.
