Open Hatch Gantry Crane (OHGC)
WE HAVE BEEN OPERATING OPEN HATCH GANTRY CRANE VESSELS SINCE OUR FIRST NEWBUILDINGS, ALAIN LD AND ROBERT LD, WERE DELIVERED IN 1969.
Five generations later, our four 6th Generation open hatch gantry crane ships – with their box-shaped holds, wide open hatches and unobstructed decks – are still setting standards for the efficient and safe carriage of unitised, bulk and project cargoes needing special care.
Between 2009 and 2010 we took delivery of four 6th Generation open hatch gantry crane vessels. At an average deadweight of 72,860, these newest vessels are four times the size of our first open hatch gantry crane ship, Alain LD.
