Fleet List

OUR JOINT VENTURE COMPANY G2 OCEAN OPERATES THE WORLD’S LARGEST FLEET OF OPEN HATCH GANTRY CRANE AND JIB CRANE VESSELS, SETTING THE STANDARD FOR GLOBAL OCEAN TRANSPORTATION SERVICES.

The Gearbulk fleet is predominantly engaged in our G2 Ocean joint venture, with the balance of the fleet operating in niche trades including pitch and transhipment. Our fleet also includes ships designed for conventional dry bulk, liquids requiring high temperatures and project cargo needing plenty of space.

fleet-1

Open Hatch Gantry Crane (OHGC)

We have been operating open hatch gantry crane vessels since our first two newbuildings, Alain LD and Robert LD, were delivered in 1969.

fleet-2

Open Hatch Jib Crane (OHJC)

We introduced our Fleximax class of vessels in 1996 to complement our fleet of open hatch gantry crane ships.

fleet-3

Semi-open Jib Crane

With their box-shaped hold design, our semi-open jib crane vessels complement our larger fleet of open hatch gantry and jib crane ships, both in terms of efficient cargo stowage and self-loading and discharge.

fleet-4

Totally Enclosed Forestry Carriers (TEFC)

TEFCs are fully covered open hatch gantry crane vessels designed for weatherproof loading and discharge of all types of forest products.

fleet-5

Floating terminals

Gearbulk entered the floating terminal business in 1977 in Jeddah, converting a tanker into a storage facility for both bulk and bagged cement. Since then, we have been operating floating terminals for fertiliser, grains and ores.

fleet-6

Combination caustic/ bulk (CABU)

Gearbulk owns and operates the caustic combination carrier Kuljak Arrow. We managed the conversion of holds 1, 3 and 5 to carry liquid caustic soda.

fleet-6

Tankers

Our dedicated and combination liquid carriers are equipped to handle a wide range of liquids, whenever these cargoes need carefully regulated high heat temperatures to travel safely.
